My husband is one step away from being offered a job in Dubai and part of the benefit is “basic medical insurance”. Does anyone knows what this covers and whether we really need to get private medical insurance.

Firstly I’m not planning to off myself!
Just wondered if someone commits suicide does the insurance company pay out on the life insurance or not?
I want a new joint life insurance policy as we’re moving home, but instead of the usual life and critical illness (the latter part of which I’m told rarely pays out anyway), I’d like a life insurance policy that will pay me on maturity, i.e. at the end of the term. My inlaws are forever getting sums of money for insurance policies they took out years ago, but I can’t find out where to get one. I need at least £100,000 of life insurance for at least 20 years as it has to cover my mortgage if one of us dies. Am I looking for an endowment policy? How do I get one without finding a financial advisor?
I now find myself a single parent of 3 children under 10 years old and I am worried about financial arrangements should anything happen to me before they are independent adults.
What should I be looking for in terms of life insurance?
I’ve found policies that only pay out within a fixed term, policies that only pay out on death at any time – I dont know what to go for!
Any help?

Having a health problem doesn’t necessarily mean your rate will be outrageous but you likely will pay higher premiums than your healthy peers. How much more you’ll pay depends on your condition.

I have heard and know of so many stories of people when they try to make a claim but the insurance company refuses to pay on pathetic grounds. my question is does anybody know of a much safer alternative to a life insurance policy?
Next year I am taking a gap year and have been looking into volunteering outside of Europe. I need travel and medical insurance but I am unsure of the difference between the two types of insurance. Also, are there any good sites that I can get good deals off? Thankyou!
